Founding Attorney

Jim Miskell is the principal attorney and founder of the Estate Planning Law Group of Georgia, James M. Miskell, PC, and practices exclusively in the areas of Elder Law, Estate Planning, and Probate. Jim began his law career more than 32 years ago as an Assistant District Attorney, specializing in prosecuting crimes against children and special victims.

For the past decade, Jim has been in private practice as The Estate Planning Law Group of Georgia, James M. Miskell, P.C. and now specializes in wills, trusts, estate planning, and elder law, helping families plan for all stages of their lives.

No two families are the same and no two estate plans are the same. Jim believes that estate planning is most effective when you understand all of your options before making any major decisions. To that end, the Estate Planning Law Group of Georgia, James M. Miskell, PC, offers free educational workshops so that clients discover potential issues and options for their families. Laura Herrin

Estate Planning Attorney

Laura Herrin is an estate planning attorney with the Estate Planning Law Group of Georgia. She has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia since 1997. Laura began her career as an Assistant District Attorney and specialized in the prosecution of crimes against children. She has a passion for using her skills and expertise to help others

Laura now strictly specializes in estate planning, with a strong belief that she can have a positive impact on the lives of her clients. Having experienced the importance of estate planning in her own family, Laura is driven to help other families feel confident in their plans. Laura’s grandmother and all of her grandmother’s eight adult siblings suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease, which opened her eyes to the importance of estate planning not only for death, but also for times of mental incompetency. As a mother, Laura recognizes the importance of estate planning for young families as well, so that parents can make decisions for their children, rather than leaving that up to a judge and the government.

Originally from California, Sabrina has lived in Oklahoma, Texas, and now proudly calls Georgia home. Outside of work, she enjoys life with her long-term partner and their four cherished fur babies. Although new to estate planning, Mouna brings a wealth of administrative experience from the education field and speaks three languages fluently, which has expanded the firm’s ability to serve a broader community
