Acting As Of Counsel, Debra A. Robinson
Debra A. Robinson concentrated her practice in the areas of estate planning, probate, elder law, asset protection, and business law. Debbie has experience preparing wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and prenuptial agreements. She has formed business entities including corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies, and prepared business documents such as buy sell agreements and operating agreements. Debbie has assisted clients with probate and trust administration, as well as guardianships for minors and incapacitated adults. She also provided guidance on Medicaid planning.
Debbie earned her bachelor’s degree from Adelphi University, cum laude, in 1973, and her law degree from The University of Chicago Law School in 1979. Debbie has been practicing law in the metropolitan Atlanta area since 1985.
Debbie’s husband died of cancer at the age of 39, leaving her with two young children to raise alone. Despite her law degree and several years of working in a law firm, she was not prepared for the legal and financial issues she faced as a widow. It was through this personal experience that she found her life’s purpose – to become a skilled estate planning and elder law attorney, and use her expertise to assist her clients to preserve their assets and protect their families in the event of incapacity or death.
Debbie has been a member of the Fiduciary and Elder Law Sections of the State Bar of Georgia, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Real Property and Probate Section of the American Bar Association. She is a former board member of the North Fulton Bar Association. Debbie had also been a frequent lecturer on estate planning and elder law issues both to professional and community groups.
Debbie had consistently been awarded an AV rating by Martindale Hubbell, which indicates that her peers rank her at the highest level of professional excellence. Since 2014, she has been named by The National Advocates as a Top 100 Lawyer.
Debbie was a hospice volunteer for many years. She now volunteers as a friendly visitor for North Fulton Senior Services and for the Friends of East Roswell Library.
After a long and successful career in law, Debbie is now enjoying her most important career as a loving Grandmother where she will spend more time with her family.
